You will need an extra bucket, painter's tape, drop cloths a paint roller with a 3/8" or ½" cover, paint brush, stir stick, paint tray and liner, ladder if necessary, dampened cloth to clean up spatters, latex gloves and eye protection.
Previously painted surfaces should be clean and free of loose or peeling paint, dirt, grease, mold and mildew or other household grime and the surface should by dry. New brick, stone, stucco and fiber cement siding should be dry, sound and free of dirt, dust or other contaminants. One coat of primer is required most surfaces. Deeply textured or extremely porous surfaces may require two coats.
Stir Primer until smooth and homogenous. Use a paint brush to cut in around edges and corners then use a paint roller to apply primer to remaining area. It is best to roll into damp cut in paint to avoid creating a "ridge" between dry and wet primer. Apply primer in an even coat with no runs, sags or holidays. Avoid drips, spills and painting adjacent areas. Clean up spills immediately with a damp cloth as it will be difficult to remove once dried. Clean tools with soap and warm water.
Dry to touch: 2--4 hours at 70°F and 50% R.H.
