The Chemcraft White ProVinyl Vinyl Primer is a professional-grade conventional vinyl primer designed for interior wood applications where superior moisture resistance and substrate adhesion are critical. Its high-hiding formula provides an excellent build, creating a uniform, sandable base that masks surface variations on items like kitchen cabinets, vanities, and furniture.

Performance & Benefits
  • Superior Moisture Barrier: Acts as a stable shield against moisture-related movement in wood, helping to maintain finish integrity even in varying humidity.
  • High Hiding Power: Offers excellent build and hiding, efficiently masking substrate color differences and seams for a consistent final appearance.
  • Excellent Adhesion: Formulated to provide a dependable grip on the substrate, supporting resistance to peeling or lifting at edges and profile transitions.
  • Flexible System Integration: Can be used as an undercoat for both pre-catalyzed and post-catalyzed topcoats. It functions effectively under these systems both with and without an added catalyst.

Application & Setup
  • Fast Drying: Reaches a tack-free state in 10–15 minutes and can be sanded in 45–60 minutes at room temperature.
  • Topcoat Compatibility: If used uncatalyzed, it should only be topcoated with pre-catalyzed materials. When catalyzed (typically with 3% 873-1229), it is compatible with both pre-catalyzed and conversion varnish topcoats.
  • Surface Preparation: Substrates should be sanded with 120, 150, or 180 grit paper prior to coating. Sand the primer with 280/320 grit paper before topcoating.
  • Important Restrictions: This primer is for interior use only and must not be used on metal, old oil, or cellulose lacquers. Avoid contact with ammonia vapors during curing, as they can accelerate discoloration.
